Approach of Karimunjawa and Kura Kura Resort
Our Kura Kura Resort is situated around S 5.47 / E 110.20, at Menyewakan Island, in the Karimunjawa Islands, a group of 27 seven fantastic paradise palm clad white sand beach islands in the Karimunjawa Marine National Park.
The approach is very simple, if you like to go straight to our resort approaching from east, just pass south or north of Karimunjawa / Kemujan Island, then straight to us at Pulau Menyewakan.
Not really good anchorage, but possible at 30 - 40 m sand bottom around the island, on the lee side depending on the wind.
If calm weather our jetty has 5 - 20 mtr of water, a single buoy in front of jetty (as seen in aerial photo). Not recommended for overnight.
If you instead decide to approach from south between Menjangan Besar and Karimunjawa, the "Down Town" is a little north of the southern tip of Karimunjawa on your starboard side. The first 2 bigger shore based jetties you will see on your starboard side is the ferry terminal with the terminal building in white - yellowish color with terra kotta tile roof and just 100 meter north the public jetty.
Passing that, seeing some flotaing buildings / fish farms on starboard side, then same at port side and an old sailing boat beige color on anchor for the last 6 years... good and very well protected anchorage.
On starboard shore houses a small jetty and the harbour masters office is situated. You should report to him, he is very helpful. From there it is 7 nm to our resort and watch out for the 2 shallows just passed the beige sailing boat in the lane towards Menyewakan.
Our private jetty 100 m offshore harbour masters office "Kura Kura Resort" is written on the jetty, can be used for temporary mooring.
It is also very good anchorage passed the shallows at your star board side at S 05.52.6 / E 110.25.6.
If you have the CMAP, it clearly and very well shows this approach.
If you have any technical problems or any other needs, pls contact us when you arrive and we will do our best to help you.
